This new 40ft high cube double door container is to be used as TV broadcasting base to be shipped around the world. This particular customer only required Universal to do part of the works as they had their own electricians. We took a new one trip container and converted it to the customer’s specification, however everything had to be done within the container dimensions to meet ISO shipping regulations. As the customer wanted to fit air-conditioning, we had to create an external lockable cage recessed into the container itself so the condenser could be placed in. Internally, the unit was lined in strong 18mm vinyl faced plywood boards over a CLS timber frame which was insulated in Rockwool. The flooring was hard wearing polyfloor and the unit also had a partition half way with a sliding door which hid in the wall cavity, which helped to maximise the internal space of the container. We also fitted this out with a number of shelving units and benches. Finally, it was painted in hard wearing white container paint. Once finished, the completed container inspected by an approved container inspector who deemed it fit for overseas shipping.
