This 40ft x 12ft custom built flat panel cabin was a container conversion project completed for Eddie Stobart’s, Universal Containers were delighted when this customer approached us again to help them out with a project they needed for their drivers. They wanted us to create a shower block for a truck stop in Rugby. The container conversion consists of 8 individual shower rooms, each including a shower, hand basin and bench for changing. Additionally, they include 2 large vanity units with basins for drivers to clean / brush their teeth etc. The unit has been built to a high quality with multipro wall boards, fully insulated and full electrics including heating, hand dryers, air curtains and emergency lighting. It is also equipped with mirrors, coat hooks and glass shelves. Externally painted in blue. At first the customer was uncertain of the size, so our specialist CAD team assisted them, creating designs which incorporate the full brief provided by the customer.

  • Painted externally choice of single RAL colour
  • Insulated flooring, walls & ceiling with 100mm cavity wall – floor will have 50mm insulation
  • 18mm ply floor with 2mm anti slip polyfloor
  • Ceiling lined with 3mm laminated plywood
  • Walls lined with 8mm vinyl coated multipro – dividing walls to have multiple, plastic louvre vents either side
  • Extractor fans to all shower rooms
  • Plumbing layout as per drawing with additional floor drainage
  • Full electrics including emergency lighting
  • Mirrors, shelving & benches (as per design discussed)
  • 2x central heating radiators
  • Delivery via HIAB to Rugby
