Shipping container converted into a coffee shop

Client Name: Judy’s Coffee Shop

Industry: Catering

Location: Bury, Manchester

Value of Work: £11,000

Overview

Judy approached us wanting a compact coffee shop built from a shipping container. It needed to be fully functional for daily service, with UPVC anthracite doors for customer access, a roller shutter for security, a serving hatch, and a small kitchen area complete with water heater and sink.

The Challenge

The main challenge was helping Judy design a layout that met all of her requirements without going over the budget. It needed to be practical, compliant, and ready to operate in a busy location.

Our Approach

We spend with each client, we don’t just “build a box”, we work closely with all our clients to create something that actually functions for their business.

We guided Judy through every option from start to finish. Our conversions team used their experience to help her choose the best layout, materials, and features so the build stayed on budget but still delivered everything she needed.

The Solution

Because we’ve done so many catering-style conversions, we already knew what was needed to make the unit compliant and practical for daily use. The project was planned and scheduled early to ensure everything was ready for opening day.

Here’s the breakdown of what we delivered:

  • UPVC anthracite double doors for front access.
  • Roller shutter to secure the shop out of hours.
  • Serving hatch fitted to suit the customer flow.
  • Kitchen area including sink, water heater, and functional workspace. 5. All components and fixtures selected to meet public-serving regulations.

The Result

The container coffee shop was delivered successfully and on time. We spent plenty of time with the client during planning to make sure the final build matched exactly what she needed. The end result was a fully operational, secure, customer-ready coffee shop that fit perfectly within the agreed budget.
